Dr.’s Remedy Pink Shades for Breast Cancer Awareness

Today I have the three shades Dr.’s Remedy is showcasing for October. All are re-promote shades but Dr.’s Remedy is donating 10% of the proceeds to the Living Beyond Breast Cancer organization.

First up is Purity Pink which is a light sheer pink that’s a great shade for just a touch of color. Its a my nails but better shade and this is two coats.

Secondly is Nurture Nude Pink is another delicate pink but this one is more substantial. There is a beautiful magenta shimmer in the bottle that unfortunately doesn’t translate to the nail. I used three coats for this photo.

Finally we have Hopeful Hot Pink which is the bold shade of the trio. Its a medium cool toned pink creme polish that covers well in two coats.

Dr.’s Remedy Step Into Summer Collection

Late last week I received these beauties for review and wanted to get them up as soon as possible. The Step into Summer collection includes three summery shades: GRATEFUL Grape, HOPEFUL Hot Pink, and YOUTHFUL Yellow. As first impressions go, the three colors look nice together and definitely project a summer vibe. I’ve yet to be disappointed with the formula, wear time or color payoff with a Dr.’s Remedy product. So, now on to the colors!

First up is GRATEFUL which Dr.’s Remedy describes a grape polish that had a “sizzle, shine and a touch of shimmer”. When I took the bottles out of the box and unwrapped them, I thought this would be my least favorite since I’m weird about my purple shades. However, once I put this baby on, it moved to the top of the list. GRATEFUL is a one coater polish that applied really well.

Next up is HOPEFUL Hot Pink which Dr.’s Remedy describes as “this shade of pink is every gal’s new best pal, no doubt”.  Its a great pink creme right? This one was  thinner than GRATEFUL and I used two coats for the photos. I do love a cool toned pink.

Lastly we have YOUTHFUL Yellow which Dr.’s Remedy describes as “a hue of banana-meets-lemon with here-comes-the-sun subtlety, this shade is matte, marvelous and magical”. Just from the description I knew this color would be great.  I can say that YOUTHFUL applied better than any other creme yellows I have tried but the first coat was still streaky. Everything evened out by the second coat. I would consider this more of a satin finish than a true matte though I would love to see Dr.’s Remedy tackle true matte polishes, maybe for the fall or winter.

All in all, I think this is a great summer collection. They all look good together, they apply easily and wear well. Once I finished taking pictures of YOUTHFUL, I got a wild hair to try a watermarble with the set.

Dr.’s Remedy Jolly & Joy Collection -Glitter Edition

Today I have the Glitter side of Dr.’s Remedy Jolly & Joy Collection for you. The shimmer side was amazing but it has nothing on the glitter half. If there’s only one glitter polish you can purchase this holiday season, definitely make it one of these! Not only are they sparkly and amazing but they are even easier to remove than a typical glitter polish.

First up I have SERENE Silver Glitter. Its described as “a seasonal sizzler like no other; shine, chic, totally unique in the metallic scene. SERENE is amazing! There is silver, red, and green glitter and its very fine glitter particles. When its dry, it looks almost like a foil. Almost. There weren’t any application issues and I used two coats.

RESOLUTION Red Glitter is described as “a red-meets-copper spin that’s sequin-look-alike laden with high-shine and sparkle”.  RESOLUTION looks like a perfect rose pink but if you look closely you can see red, copper and silver glitter. SERENE also looks foil-esque after its dry. There weren’t any application issues and this is two coats. Isn’t she lovely?

Dr.’s Remedy Jolly & Joy Collection -Shimmer Edition

The Jolly & Joy collection includes five shades: REVIVE Ruby Red, PASSION Purple, ESSENTIAL Emerald, SERENE Silver Glitter and RESOLUTION Red Glitter. I posted the press release here so you can see more in depth information about it. Today I have the shimmer half of the new Jolly & Joy collection from Dr.’s Remedy.

REVIVE Ruby Red is described as “a shimmer-infused, Wizard of Oz inspired shade of crimson”.  This one is a beauty! I’m in love with it despite the brush in my bottle was wonky. It was more like a nail art brush size than a regular Dr.’s Remedy polish brush. However, the polish still went on and there weren’t any streaking or obvious brush stroke issues. Application was excellent despite the brush and I used three coats here.

PASSION Purple is described as “a bombshell-boysenberry with subtle silver meshed throughout”. PASSION is to purple what REVIVE is to red. PASSION is a gorgeous red-based purple with a light silver shimmer. There were no application issues and I used three coats here.

ESSENTIAL Emerald is described as “a take on the classic tree-and-plant-inspired gem of a shade, with delicate glimmer and unparalleled amounts of glamour”.  ESSENTIAL is just gorgeous! Its my favorite of the shimmer side of this collection. Its a great green color with a silver shimmer.

Can I just say I’m in love with this collection? All the colors are very much in sync with this time of year but still completely wearable for the rest of the year also. Tomorrow I’ll be showing you the glitters and they are equally amazing!

Dr.’s Remedy Defense

Today I have the last of the Dr.’s Remedy Fall Fever collection. This one is a dark vampy red that’s perfect for fall named Defense. Dr.’s Remedy describes Defense as “a rich bordeaux with a mystifying matte finish”.

Defense applies really well and we all know I’m in love with reds so its no shocker that I like this one. Defense is completely opaque in two coats. I didn’t use a top coat because I wanted to see the matte finish. While I wouldn’t call it strictly a matte, its definitely not as glossy as the rest of the collection.

Dr.’s Remedy Nobel

Today I’m showing you guys Nobel from the Fall Fever Collection. Nobel is the navy blue creme polish in the collection. Dr.’s Remedy describes Nobel as “a sea-at-dusk shade that reflects light and brings dimension to tips and toes alike”.

Nobel applies like a dream. Although you could get away with one coat, I did two coats just because. While blue polish isn’t my favorite, I really like this one- especially since its a creme polish. I didn’t use a top coat on this one so you can see just how glossy it is

Dr.’s Remedy Balance

Today’s manicure is one of the new shades from Dr.’s Remedy Fall Fever collection -Balance! Balance is described as “a modern maroon with body and balance”. I’ve been excited about these since I first saw the Fall Fever Press Release and seeing them in person is just amazing. I’m really a fall polish person and red in particular. I’ll be showcasing the other colors in this collection, Defense and Nobel, this week also.

I would consider Balance more of a brick red than a maroon but semantics aside, I like the polish. It applied smoothly with no issues. The brush is nice and I like that the square cap is removable and there is a smaller cap which is easier to control while polishing. I used two coats and a topcoat and wore this manicure for three days without chipping.
