Zoya Summer Pixie Dust Collection (Press Sample)

Today I have the long awaited Summer Pixie Dust collection. I am in love with this collection, the colors are so bright and summery. I really like the textured polishes in general but the sparkliness of the Pixies is really fantastic.

A few quick words about application. Zoya recommends no base coats for these or a top coat, obviously since the top coat would ruin the matte sparkle effect.  For these photos, I used two coats for each shade with no base or top coat.

DSC04377 DSC04378Zoya describes Solange as “a gold metal foil sparkle with exclusive gold pigment”. This polish has got to be the blingiest polish I have ever seen. It’s like Ziv on steroids. Seriously.

DSC04379 DSC04382Beatrix is the tangerine metallic in the bunch. Very summery and will look amazing with a tan. Unfortunately I go from pale to lobster in about five minutes.

DSC04383 DSC04385Destiny  is a sparkly red based coral. It’s like a sugar covered Zoya Rica. It’s also really similar to OPI Jinx from the Bond Girls collection.

DSC04387 DSC04388Miranda is a very feminine rosy pink shade that dries to a sparkle matte finish.

DSC04391 DSC04393Stevie is a pale lavender matte sparkle polish. It’s the Pixie Dust sister of Zoya Julie. I can’t help but wish it was a little more bold for summer.

DSC04396DSC04395 Liberty is the bold blue of the bunch. It’s a really pretty blue and looks amazing. Unfortunately, Liberty is a stainer, I’d recommend using a base coat with this one.

As a whole, the summer Pixie Dust collection is amazing and so representative of the season. Solange is the most in your face sparkly gold polish I’ve ever seen. Destiny and Miranda are my favorites of this collection but all of the shades are wonderful.

Barielle Sweet Treats Collection (Press Sample)

Today I have  pretty sweet Spring collection. I’m a little late posting this one since most of us are looking toward summer collections or even fall in some cases. However, it’s still gorgeous and worth another look. I really like this collection as a whole, it’s chock full of bright and gorgeous spring creme shades.

DSC04359 DSC04361First is Green Apple Chew which is a bright chartreuse creme shade. Normally I shy away from shades like this since they are so bright and fall into that ugly/pretty category but this one is gorgeous. It’s actually unique in my collection but OPI Don’t Bach to Me is a similar shade but lighter.

DSC04363 DSC04364This is Banana Drop, a light yellow creme. Though I love yellows like these, I usually have issues with application. Banana Drop applied well but it’s the only one that needed three coats.

DSC04366 DSC04367Lilac Jelly Bean is dusty lavender shade. I can’t get enough of shades like this, I think I have 10-15 of them in my collection and love each one. Definitely a must have shade.

DSC04370 DSC04372Orange Parfait is the spring sister of Barielle Rusted Vintage Boots that came out this past fall. It’s a pretty cantaloupe shade that’s perfect for spring.

DSC04374 DSC04375Last but not least, we have Blue Cotton Candy. A lovely teal shade, this is the only one in the collection with this gorgeous silver shimmer.

Green Apple Chew and Blue Cotton Candy are the stand outs of this collection and my favorites though you really can’t go wrong with any of them. With the exception of Banana Drop, each of these needed two coats for full opacity.

Zoya NYFW Peter Som Trio

Today I have the Zoya New York Fashion Week trio from Peter Som  and is called the “Women on the Verge” trio. The names are the women of Valley of the Dolls (the book & movie).

Jacqueline is an opaque nude creme polish-perfect in two coats. This one may actually be my perfect nude though it doesn’t exactly give me mannequin hands.

Sharon is a bright orange creme polish that covers in two coats. This one is perfectly bright and sunny -like a creamsicle.

Here’s a comparison between Sharon and Arizona. I have Sharon on my pointer and ring fingers while Arizona is on my  middle and pinky fingers. Clearly they are really really similar and I’m not certain I could discern a difference even when I was wearing them.

Neely is a light mint creme shade that I used three coats to be opaque. It should come as no surprise that this is my favorite of the trio. I just can’t get enough of the mint/teal/turquoise families.

Here’s a comparison of Zoya Wednesday, Zoya Bevin, Orly Jealous Much? and Zoya Neely. Clearly Neely is much much lighter than Wednesday and Bevin but very close to Orly Jealous Much? that came out in their spring collection.

Barielle Summer Fun Collection

Today I have the new Summer Fun Collection from Barielle. This collection is a set of five summery creme polishes that are just perfect for summer. In typical Barielle fashion, all five are super easy to apply and wear well. I’m wearing two coats of polish in each photo.

First is Mint Ice Cream Cone which looks exactly like its namesake. A clean light mint creme polish and I wish I had brown glitter to make chocolate chips with. I really like this shade even though it makes my skin look more red.

Pink Flip Flops is a baby pink shade with blue undertones. This is super easy to apply and wears well.

Peach Popsicle is the lighter coral of the group, its a little darker than what I would consider peachy. It also looks better on me than a normal peach.

Ocean Breeze is a bright aqua shade. This is my favorite shade of the bunch.

Berry Go “Round is the bright coral in the collection. I am so loving corals in the summertime.

To me, this collection is the epitome of summer polishes. It may seem like a standard summer collection but that’s because it works. You have the bright corals, the pastels and the aquas that are so in season right now. Ocean Breeze is my favorite of this collection followed closely by Berry Go ‘Round.

Polish & Co Dreamsicle

Today I’m bringing you another gem from Polish & Co. This time its Dreamsicle -a creamy orange shade that is summer personified.

Like Cash Only from yesterday, Dreamsicle was really easy to apply and needed minimum cleanup once I finished my manicure. Despite having a slightly thinner formula, I used two coats and Dreamsicle was completely opaque. After topping it off with a shiny top coat, my nails look like a juicy orange.

Polish & Co polishes are $12 a bottle but if you buy two or more from their website, they offer free shipping. To purchase Polish & Co polishes, their website is here.

Barielle Gotta Have Fate

Have you entered Barielle’s BFF Sweepstakes yet? If not, what are you waiting for? I was lucky enough to have Barielle send me a few shades and treatments to review for you guys. This is the first shade -Gotta Have Fate.

Gotta Have Fate is a great summer shade -a coral creme polish. I love shades like this! On me, Gotta Have Fate is more of an orange red coral but still beautiful.

I used two coats and topped it off with a Barielle top coat that I will be reviewing next week after my wear test.

You Pick Thursday! Cult Nails Scandalous

Today’s You Pick Thursday! winner is Cult Nails Scandalous from the Diva and Dramas collection. I love Cult Nails. Is anyone else excited for the new Fairy Tale Collection? I know I’ll be preordering it.

Scandalous is an orange jelly polish that reminds me of orange sherbert. Its so wonderfully glossy. I used two coats for the pictures below. If I had been wearing it alone, I would have added a third coat but instead I added a coat of Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday then my third coat of Scandalous for a lovely glitter sandwich. I can definitely see myself wearing this one again.

Zoya Wednesday & Arizona

Today I’m wearing Wednesday and Arizona from Zoya’s new Beach collection. I just got my Earth Day order and now I have fourteen (!!!) new pretty polishes to play with. I couldn’t decide between Arizona or Wednesday so I wore both.

Wednesday is a dusty turquoise creme shade. I polished Wednesday on all but my ring fingers. Arizona is a bright orange creme that I used as an accent on my ring finger. On my right hand, I did the reverse even though I didn’t take any pictures to post.

I didn’t have any application issues with either Wednesday or Arizona.

China Glaze Fireside Glow

Today I have the other Ulta Exclusive China Glaze -Fireside Glow. There are three of them but I only bought these two since Mistletoe Me looks exactly like Color Club Hot Like Lava from the Foiled set and I already have that one.

Fireside Glow is just simply lovely. Its a mix of orange and holographic glitter in a clear base. I put on three coats and it was completely opaque. The small downside is that Fireside Glow is a top coat eater. I put on three coats  before it was semi-smooth. I didn’t add another one (or two) because I wanted to eventually be able to take it off!

You Pick Thursday! Zoya Kalmia

Today’s You Pick Thursday winner is Zoya Kalmia from the Truth Collection. The Zoya website describes Kalmia as “metallic red-gold fusion enhanced by copper and gold shimmer”. To me, Kalmia is fall in a bottle. I wish I had this around Thanksgiving but I just received her this month.

To me, Kalmia is copper-y burnt orange shade with a gold shimmer-maybe a little more on the red side of copper. This is two coats. Isn’t she lovely?
