Cult Nails Devious Nature

Today’s manicure is Devious Nature from Cult Nails Day at the Races collection. I think Devious Nature is part of their permanent collection now though. Oh and there is also a “bad” Devious Nature which is a shade or two off from the original. This is the original Devious Nature -I didn’t see the point in owning both.

Devious Nature is a medium pink creme polish. I used two coats for this manicure. Like most Cult Nails polishes, Devious Nature practically applied itself. Kidding but it was close.

You Pick Thursday! Cult Nails Scandalous

Today’s You Pick Thursday! winner is Cult Nails Scandalous from the Diva and Dramas collection. I love Cult Nails. Is anyone else excited for the new Fairy Tale Collection? I know I’ll be preordering it.

Scandalous is an orange jelly polish that reminds me of orange sherbert. Its so wonderfully glossy. I used two coats for the pictures below. If I had been wearing it alone, I would have added a third coat but instead I added a coat of Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday then my third coat of Scandalous for a lovely glitter sandwich. I can definitely see myself wearing this one again.

China Glaze Red Pearl

Today’s polish is China Glaze Red Pearl. I found this one in the core China Glaze section of Sally’s Beauty Supply a month of so ago. Sidenote: My favorite red polish ever is an OPI An Affair in Red Square from the Russian collection but I’m almost out and can’t find a replacement anywhere. China Glaze is my favorite brand and I was super excited to see a similar shade in the Core Collection instead of a Limited Edition.

Red Pearl is an amazing crimson red shimmer polish. It applies effortlessly really. This is two coats and I love it.

While its a shade or two different from An Affair in Red Square but its close. My husband can’t tell the difference -only a true polish nerd can pick out the nuances.

You Pick Thursday! Julep Portia

Today’s You Pick Thursday! is Julep Portia. Julep Portia is a sheer blue polish with holographic glitter. I got her in a swap not too long ago but haven’t worn her yet.

Since Portia is a sheer shade, I layered one coat over two coats of Orly Sapphire Silk. Sapphire Silk is my absolute favorite blue so I always reach for it when I need to layer blueish shades.

Zoya Shelby

Today I’m wearing Shelby from Zoya’s Beach collection. Just the name makes me think of Steel Magnolias and that fact that its pink makes me giggle. Especially the part when Shelby and M’Lynn arguing over Shelby’s wedding colors. M’Lynn says Pink and Pink while Shelby argues Blush and Bashful.

Shelby is a bubblegum pink creme polish. She applies effortlessly like most of Zoya’s creme shades. I wore two coats for the pictures below.

Then I went upstairs to my new polish desk (YAY for Freecycle finds!) to grab Sticks N Stones. I put a coat over Shelby and called it a day.

You Pick Thursday! OPI Care to Danse?

Today’s You Pick Thursday! is OPI Care to Danse? from the NYC Ballet Soft Shade Collection. Usually I don’t pay too much attention to OPI’s soft shade collections but I was really drawn to these shades. I’m sure part of it is that I always wanted to be a pretty and graceful ballerina but that just didn’t happen. Actually I don’t remember ever taking a dance glass -Girl Scouts though, I was involved for six years.

Care to Danse? is a very pale lilacy purple jelly polish. It would be absolutely perfect for a jelly sandwich using Zoya Marley (or similar -Marley is just sitting on my desk looking lovely). Though I didn’t have any issues keep in mind this is a sheer polish. I used three coats and its not opaque. And then I covered it up with a coat of Pirouette My Whistle which is the silvery glitter also from this set.
